Addition to the Mums Enterprise family

Well it is 29th November 2016 and I am so pleased to announced the news that I am expecting my second baby.

I didn’t do very well today at the hospital.

-I was 10 minutes late
-I didn’t drink enough water beforehand
-I forgot my notes
-And I got my dates wrong, I am a week earlier than I thought

But I couldn’t wait another week to announce the news, I have pretty much told all my family and friends already.   Earlier this year I was pregnant and didn’t know it, it was throughout our first ever events back in June but I lost that baby, which made me realise how much I wanted Molly moo to have a brother or sister.  Today was a huge relief as we saw the heartbeat and everything was OK.

I wanted to write a blog because this is very significant about the work me and Lucy are doing with the Mums Enterprise Roadshow.

It was because of having my first baby that I started to work myself back in 2014 as returning to my city job wasn’t a viable option for me. Events is where my whole career started back in 2000 as a young apprentice and I am so proud and happy to be organising an event which came from my imagination which I know will help and change many other mums lives.   Lucy was 6 weeks pregnant at the time she started working on these events and Ruby is now just turned one.

So now with a new arrival I/we will certainly be walking the walk and talking the talk! I will now face many more challenges in terms of business and baby.  There are so many things un-kown to me now.

·         Before I had a full time, job and got maternity leave

·         I had 9 months off with Molly moo – I won’t be able to afford that this time

·     We want to host three event dates next year and currently every ounce of work is done by me and Lucy.  We need to set dates around me giving birth – ha ha how crazy is that.

·         Sleep – that’s going to be fun, not having any!

·         Thankfully Molly will get her free hours soon but I will need to figure out how I can still make time without a crying baby to make the calls I need to bring in a revenue.  But not miss out on being a mummy.

·         I have worked up quite a nice work/family routine – that will go to pot

So I have a lot of challenges in store, well me and Lucy both do about how we are going to manage this business around our growing families.

But these are challenges thousands of women face all over the UK and I know we will manage it and handle it whilst continuing to make a great thing of the Mums Enterprise Roadshow.  We are total believer’s that you can really be fulfilled in work and with family life and we very much intend to be testament to that fact.  It’s not going to be easy, but we will adapt.

The most important thing is that these events are the success they deserve to be.  That is greatest pressure on us at the moment.  We know there is a need, we know they have helped so many mums already and we know they are going to help thousands more.

So watch this space – I will no doubt keep you updated on our progress and how we are going to handle a brand new addition to the Mums Enterprise mission.   It’s going to be an exciting, challenge no-matter what but I am up for it and am excited to see how this all works out.
